    hello and welcome to hoopers

  • Hoopers Design Approach

Situated in Ipswich, with a heritage dating back to its founding in 1912, by architect Harold Ridley Hooper, our practice, Hoopers Architects is actively building a clientele that resonates with our commitment to crafting designs driven by conceptual innovation. Our particular interest lies in collaborating with individuals and organisations who share a passion for engaging in the complexities of the design journey. We focus on regeneration projects, repurposing and adapting buildings and this aligns with our vision to contribute to societal enrichment while minimising the environmental impact of the built environment.

As a supplier on the NHS SBS Framework Agreement, specifically Lot 1 - Architectural Services Healthcare Planning, Construction Consultancy, and Ancillary Services (HPCCAS), Hoopers is dedicated to providing for all stakeholder needs within the healthcare biosphere, regenerating and working with outdated and historic buildings.

Typically, our work is based on de-stigmatising, nurturing and stimulating environments which can contribute to positive outcomes in mental health. We aim for this philosophy to permeate all our projects, whether it’s a school, home, sports arena, workplace or community space we believe in this approach.

Our extensive portfolio also spans a diverse range of sectors and scales, encompassing residential, education, healthcare, sports stadiums, office design, community workshops, and historic buildings. We take pride in collaborating with clients who exhibit a particular enthusiasm for architecture and placemaking, collectively contemplating the integration of health and wellbeing, workplace dynamics, and cultural elements in urban, suburban, or countryside settings.

Among our client base are notable names such as the, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), Ipswich Town Football Club, Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia, The Land Group, Breckland Bridge, Active Urban Property Group, Edison House Group, and the Ipswich Borough Council’s Handford Homes.

At Hoopers, our mission is to actively engage with both public and private sector clients, alongside communities, to collaboratively craft better living spaces for everyone involved. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to establish new relationships and partnerships with clients and designers who share our commitment in the years to come.

    Rivers Hospital new illustrations

We are proud to share our vision for the ‘rivers’ Hospital, a project that represents our commitment to creating nurturing environments for mental health. While we celebrate this achievement, we also recognise that the project has evolved after our involvement concluded.

We look forward to seeing how the hospital advances as it nears completion towards the end of this year, in the meantime swipe to see our original vision for ‘rivers’ in some brand new illustrations.
